    Hello Patty Ervin,

Thanks for raising it in the Q&A forum!

I understand you're unable to close your personal Microsoft account due to a "leave your work organization" requirement. This occurs when your personal account is linked to a Microsoft Entra ID organization as a guest user.

    Steps to Leave the Organization

    1. Go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/organizations and sign in
    2. Click "Leave" next to any organization listed (except "Home Organization")
    3. Confirm by clicking "Leave" in the popup

Alternative: Visit myapps.microsoft.com > click your profile > View account > Manage organizations > Leave organization

    If You Cannot Leave

If the "Leave" button is missing or grayed out:

    The organization doesn't allow self-removal

Contact the organization's IT admin to request manual removal

    • If it's a "Home Organization" or you cannot reach the admin, contact Microsoft Support for escalation

Once removed from all organizations, you can proceed with closing your account.

If this helps, kindly accept the answer.

    Best Regards,

    Jerald Felix

    Hello,

    Please sign into https://portal.azure.com

Then click on Manage Entra ID

    Then click on Manage tenants.

Do you see the organization listed? If so, check th box and click on "Leave".

If it doesn't allow you, please include the specific error.
